Promotional materials for Yasaka’s debut film tease that she once passed auditions for a well-known idol group, without specifying which. That vague hint was enough to send netizens digging through past audition data.
Their investigation points to the 2022 search for third-generation members of Sakurazaka46, which saw 11 young women selected from a massive pool of over 45,000 applicants. Yasaka reportedly advanced to the final round but ultimately withdrew before officially becoming the group’s twelfth member.
Some fans speculate she might be the blurred-out participant visible in footage from the last stage of those auditions.
