JAV Actress Yu Tano Donates to Kumamoto Earthquake Relief Efforts

Former gravure idol-turned-AV actress Yu Tano has responded to social media users who criticized her recent 3-million-yen donation to Kumamoto earthquake relief
, with some dismissing the money as “dirty.”

The 22-year-old, who is known for her 110-centimeter “L-cup” bust, revealed her support for the disaster-hit region on X Tuesday. Together with a friend in Hiroshima Prefecture, Tano arranged emergency supplies such as beverages, sports drink powder, sanitary products and diapers. She also contributed 3 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross.

“Every time I see the news or everyone’s posts, my heart aches,” Tano wrote, encouraging those affected to put their health and safety first. “What I can do is truly small, but I wanted to help even a little.”

Her post received considerable support, but it also sparked criticism from some users who accused her of seeking attention. Tano said that was not her intention, explaining: “Support shouldn’t end with self-satisfaction. I posted this hoping to expand the circle of support.”

The criticism escalated when some commenters brought up her career in the adult entertainment industry, arguing that the money she donated was “dirty.”

Tano was quick to push back against the criticism.

“I have no reason to be denied the right to provide support just because of my profession,” she fired back. “A donation is a donation. I believe the most important thing is that it reaches the people who need it.”

The AV starlet is no stranger to making headlines for her off-screen actions. In June, she drew attention after putting her advanced life-saving certification to use, performing CPR on a patron who had choked and gone into cardiopulmonary arrest at a restaurant. She was able to revive him before an ambulance arrived.

More recently, however, the actress revealed a darker side of her internet fame, disclosing last month that relentless comments about her body type had contributed to her developing anorexia.
