Momiji Kuribara’s First Print Photobook Features Full Nudity
Gravure idol Momiji Kuribara is taking the ultimate plunge with her debut print nude photobook, Land of the Beautiful Butt, set for release on September 30.
While the 29-year-old Saitama native has previously released digital photobooks, this physical release marks a major career milestone. Speaking with Weekly Playboy for their August 10 issue, Kuribara opened up about the experience.
“I felt a bit anxious beforehand since this was my first nude project, and the wardrobe was completely different from standard glamour shoots,” she admitted. “The locations were pretty extraordinary, too.”
Alongside the upcoming book, she posed for an advance nude feature inside the magazine itself. Reflecting on the transition, she noted:
“Truthfully, I wrestled with doubts about taking it all off. But once the cameras started rolling, I had a blast. Stripping away all concealment brought a real sense of freedom… in a way, laying myself completely bare was actually easier than posing in a swimsuit.”
The photobook’s title directly highlights what she considers her defining feature. “My wide hips have always been my strong point. I’ve had a fuller lower body since I was young—partly due to my natural frame and partly from playing basketball from fourth grade through middle school.”
While early teasers in Weekly Playboy spotlight her bust line, previews for the photobook itself make no secret of focusing heavily on her signature backside.
Whether the final release features full-frontal nude shots remains to be seen, so fans will have to wait for launch day to find out for sure.
Momiji’s route into modeling wasn’t standard. After high school, she attended beauty school, earned her hairdressing license, and spent time working in a salon. From there, she transitioned to retail at an apparel shop for roughly four years. As her 25th birthday approached, she began reevaluating her future.
“I realized that staying on that path would leave me with regrets down the road. That’s when I decided to take a shot at the entertainment industry, which had always been a dream of mine.”
Outside of photo books, she stays busy as a race queen and cosplayer. She’s no stranger to bold shoots, having previously used pasties, strategically placed foam, and even a set of Band-Aids to cover up. Those daring experiences ultimately gave her the confidence to take the leap into full nudity.
Turning 30 on September 29; just one day before the launch; marked what she felt was the ideal moment for a fresh challenge. Looking ahead to her next decade, her goals include securing more magazine features and publishing a few more photo books.
It’s definitely a release worth keeping an eye on.
