JAV actress Mai Fujisaki arrested and deported for prostitution in Taiwan

Popular JAV actress Mai Fujisaki has publicly apologized after reports emerged that she was arrested and subsequently deported from Taiwan over allegations related to prostitution.

On June 7, she posted a statement on X expressing regret to fans and sponsors, saying she “deeply apologizes for the concern and trouble caused by recent reports regarding my careless actions.” Her agency is currently reviewing her scheduled shoots and public appearances, with the possibility that some may be canceled.
Because her apology did not specify what the “recent reports” referred to, many followers were left uncertain about the situation. According to News Post Seven (June 10), the underlying issue involved Taiwanese authorities detaining her in connection with a prostitution-related sting operation.

According to a journalist familiar with the case, Taiwanese media heavily covered Fujisaki’s arrest, which took place around November of last year at a business hotel in Taipei’s Shilin District.

Police raided the hotel room shortly after Fujisaki and a male client had finished engaging in sexual acts. During questioning at the scene, both admitted to the transaction. The client reportedly paid 35,000 New Taiwan Dollars (more than 170,000 yen) for her services.

Local television networks aired footage captured by officers during the operation. The recording showed a visibly distressed and tearful Fujisaki — dressed in a pink top and black miniskirt — searching through a designer handbag before handing her passport to police. In the background, the hotel bedsheets appeared rumpled and strewn across the room.

Investigators later determined that Fujisaki had been dispatched to the client by a prostitution syndicate and received instructions through the messaging app Line.

Following her arrest, Fujisaki was deported and is expected to be barred from re-entering Taiwan for three years. Meanwhile, a male accomplice tasked with transporting women and collecting illicit proceeds has already received a three-month prison sentence from a local court. The raid formed part of a broader year-end crackdown on prostitution in Taipei.

Fujisaki, who debuted in 2024, quickly gained popularity in Japan for her 170-centimeter stature and wholesome image. However, her case has drawn attention to the growing and potentially dangerous trend of young Japanese women engaging in overseas sex work.

Active AV actresses are reportedly in high demand among affluent foreign clients, but experts caution that such arrangements can carry significant risks.

“Beyond arrests, there is a real danger of becoming a victim of serious crime — including having your passport confiscated and being held against your will,” the journalist said, citing a widely reported case in Dubai last year in which an influencer was found severely injured after allegedly becoming entangled in a human-trafficking operation.

Given the dangers associated with the international underground sex trade, Fujisaki’s deportation may ultimately have spared her from far more serious consequences.
