Porn star Yui Hatano celebrates 18 years in the adult industry

Japanese performer Yui Hatano recently marked her 18th year in the adult film industry.

Over that time, while many performers have come and gone and faded from public memory, she has maintained a strong level of popularity and continues to be highly active, releasing new work at a steady pace.

Known affectionately by fans as “Hata-chan” or “Yui-chan,” she is estimated to have appeared in more than 3,000 titles since her debut in 2008.

Of course, a long career comes with its downsides—one of them is noticing how much time has passed. She joked that she sometimes feels old next to her co-stars, adding, “Lately I’ve been working with people who weren’t even born when I first debuted. It’s a very strange feeling,” she shared with her one million Instagram followers.

Yui Hatano also reflected on how her approach to work has changed over time. “In the beginning, I was fully focused on my career and determined to reach the top. I had a lot of drive back then. Now I work at a calmer pace and really enjoy connecting with my fans. I may not have the same momentum as before, but I’d be happy if you continue supporting me,” she said.

At 38, she says she has no plans to slow down completely and is looking ahead to another milestone: reaching 20 years in the industry.

Hatano, who enjoys significant popularity outside Japan—especially across other parts of Asia, which many see as a key factor in her long career—has also released a number of branded adult toys over the years.

Now 38, she has stated her intention to continue working in the industry as she approaches the milestone of 20 years in her career.
